Things to do at Captain’s Quarters resort in October

Coming to Myrtle Beach for an October Adventure? Here’s a look at the events that will be happening at and around Captain’s Quarters Myrtle Beach Resort.

Fall Bike Week is the smaller of the two Myrtle Beach Bike Weeks that take place, but has just as much to offer area visitors. Taking place from Wednesday, Oct. 2 through Sunday, Oct. 6, visitors and locals alike tend to line the scenic roadways to admire the sights and sounds brought in by the motorcycle crowd.

If you get tired of the Bike Week activities, you can also head to Oktoberfest at Market Common that same weekend and enjoy a variety of German food, music, beers and more. Oktoberfest at Market Common (only a short drive from Captain’s Quarters) will be going on from 4 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

You can continue your trip south of Captain’s Quarters to the Surfside Beach Family Festival. This is the 30th annual event and will feature more than 100 different vendors, a petting zoo, inflatables, a dunking booth and live music from two local bands. Come out from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5 and enjoy all the “family beach” has to offer.

Continuing with the fall festival theme, the Sons of Italy Fall Festival will be held at Broadway at the Beach October 11th through the 13th. In addition to children’s activities and face painting, some of the best Italian restaurants around will be showing off their recipes and giving visitors tips on how to make the most of their Italian meals.

Bill Cosby will be performing at the Alabama Theatre on October 19 from 8 to 11 p.m. Though he is probably best known for his role on the Cosby Show, this comedian will be performing his legendary stand-up routine in Myrtle Beach so make sure you don’t miss out if you’re in the area.

October ends with a big event for Captain’s Quarters- Salty The Shark’s Birthday. The Captain’s Quarters Resort mascot will be celebrating his 3rd birthday with a party at the Level 6 Entertainment Center on Friday, Oct. 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be games and food a’ plenty.

Captain’s Quarters (and Salty) will also be celebrating Halloween that same weekend on Saturday, Oct. 26 on Level 6. Salty’s costume is a secret but it’s no secret that there will be prizes given to the best costumes per age group, as well as a great DJ spinning spooky and fun tunes so make sure to stop by this party from 4 to 8 p.m. before or after you trick or treat.

Note: Be sure to check with any outdoor venues before heading out to make sure there have been no changes due to weather.
