Captain’s Quarters and July 4th
There are fewer times that feel more like summer than the 4th of July. Spending a day on the beach or at the pool, eating hot dogs and hamburgers and listening to music outside while watching fireworks is what the 4th of July is about to me. But there are lots of different ways you can spend your Independence Day thanks to all the events around Captain’s Quarters Resort.
At Brookgreen Gardens you can spend your July 4 evening listening to live music on their well manicured lawn and then heading over to the beach to watch any number of fireworks displays over the water.
Or you can stuff yourself silly (or watch others) at the Annual Croissants Cupcake Eating Contest. Last year’s winner ate 19 cupcakes in 5 minutes. And there will also be family activities like face painting and cupcake decorating for the whole family to enjoy (not to mention delicious freedom and independence themed cupcakes to consume!)
Or if you would rather not fight the crowds and the traffic, you can stay right at Captain’s Quarters and enjoy a ton of activities going on all day long. There will be special kids activities on July 3, 4 and 5, and an afternoon water gun duel or a kickball game versus the neighboring hotel BLUE around 5 p.m on the 4th. Or you can spend some time on the beach and then wander back to the hotel to enjoy some live poolside music from M-Pact 3, a cookout with hamburgers and hotdogs for sale from noon to 5 p.m. and plenty of nearby fireworks displays to enjoy.
No matter what you have in mind for the 4th of July, Captain’s Quarters is the best place in Myrtle Beach to stay for it.
