While some may think that Myrtle Beach shuts down for the winter, this is not true. In fact, there are many Myrtle Beach attractions that remain open all winter as well as some special events that take place throughout the winter as well. Often these attractions are less crowded in the winter and of course, hotel room rates are much lower this time of year as well.

The 85,000 square foot Ripleys Aquarium claims to be the most visited attraction in the whole of South Carolina, and is a must for guests staying at Vacation Myrtle Beach resorts. The aquarium opens daily at 9 a.m. and is open 365 days of the year. There are six separate sections to the aquarium with different kinds of sea life featured in each one.
