Restaurants Near Captain’s Quarters: New York Prime

New York Prime is essentially a steakhouse, but a steakhouse with the distinction of being THE best. If you want to experience the best steak during your Myrtle Beach vacation, then New York Prime must be your selection.

To understand the true meaning of this restaurant’s name you have to know just a little about how beef is graded. All beef is graded at the abattoir by representatives of the Department of Agriculture into one of eight different grades. The top grade, which represents just 2.9% of all graded beef, is called Prime, the next best quality being Choice and representing some 53.7%. Most of the beef you see in supermarkets and restaurants is Choice grade. New York Prime only serves Prime grade beef in their restaurant, which accounts for their name, and the quality of the dishes on their menu.

New York Prime is the only ‘all Prime’ restaurant in Myrtle Beach.

The restaurant is located at the junction of 28th Avenue North and N Ocean Blvd, a little to the North of down town Myrtle Beach. This is very convenient for guests staying at Captain’s Quarters resort since it is only about a 10 minute drive.

This fine dining restaurant is the recipient of several awards and has some excellent reviews. It is open seven days a week from 5.00 p.m. to 11.00 p.m. The menu, with the exception of Sea Bass and Lobster, consists entirely of Steak cuts, which are guaranteed aged for 28 days and are all hand-cut. There are a number of appetizers, sides and salads, but remember this, the restaurant is primarily a Steakhouse.

If you want to experience what is guaranteed to be the best steak in town, this is the place you’ll find it. And don’t forget to take along your Myrtle Beach discounts card - you’ll enjoy a free appetizer for your party with the purchase of entrees.
