Things to do in Myrtle Beach in June05/30/2013
June kicks off the first official summer month and there are tons of things going on around Captain’s Quarters resort that you can take advantage of during your stay!
For example, June kicks off down at Brookgreen Gardens with an art festival all day on June 1. Local artists will display and talk about their work in the beautiful garden setting at Brookgreen. You’ll also have the chance to purchase a unique piece of art to take home from your trip.
Plyer Park, near the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, is also host to a number of activities and events in June. Saturday nights there is the Hot Summer Night concert series with tons of bands playing throughout the summer. And there is also a Kids’ Carnival on Monday nights that includes a bounce house, slides, face painting and more. Both events are free for all vacations and are a perfect way to end a summer day on the beach.
Or if you haven’t had your fill of concerts, the Boathouse, located just across the Intracoastal Waterway also has a great summer concert series. Every Sunday at 5 p.m., they begin playing music at their great outdoor venue.
Broadway at the Beach also has a fireworks show on Tuesdays and some Fridays in June that is a great thing to enjoy after a nice meal there or as a dessert treat at night.
And Captain’s Quarters itself has plenty going on to keep guests entertained during their stay. From their own summer bands playing by the pool on Saturday afternoons to the classic Fire and Hula Shows to some new events like kickball games against neighboring hotels and watergun fights.
