What Captain’s Quarters Resort Room Type Is Best for My Family?

Choosing the right Myrtle Beach hotel room for your family can be a daunting task. With thousands of options in the area, how do you know where to start?

If you’ve already decided to stay with us here at Captain’s Quarters Resort, then congrats, you’ve made the first step in the vacation planning process. If you are still unsure of where you are staying, take a moment to check out our fabulous amenities. We are sure you will find us to be the best choice!

Let’s look at the basic Myrtle Beach accommodation types.

Oceanfront Efficiency at Captain's Quarters ResortOur resort has a large variety of room types to choose from for your Myrtle Beach family vacation.

You can begin by clicking here to view all of our accommodations. When you are on this page, you will see that the room types are broken out into columns: Efficiencies, Rooms, Suites and Junior Suites.

While individual room types may vary (see each description for details), this is a general overview to help you decide which accommodation type is best for your vacation needs:

Rooms

Rooms are what you may consider a basic hotel room. These do not have kitchens but do have a mini-fridge and microwave. These are great if you don’t plan to cook and are looking for a budget-friendly room. These are great for couples (if there is a king bed) or families with one child (if there are two beds).

Efficiencies

Efficiencies are typically a room with an efficiency kitchen. These room types are great for those who want to do some cooking and have a full-sized fridge available for storing drinks, snacks and leftovers. These are great for couples or families with one child, depending on how many beds are in the unit.

Junior Suites

We have two Junior Suites here at Captain’s Quarters. These units have two rooms each, making them suites, but they do not have a full kitchen, which is why they are junior suites. They do however, feature a mini fridge and microwave, perfect for snacks.

Suites

Our Myrtle Beach hotel suites typically have a larger layout than rooms and efficiencies. They have a living room, bedroom and kitchen area. These often include a sleeper sofa or murphy wall bed in the living room, which provides extra sleeping space. These are great for small to medium-sized families.

Do I want Ocean View or Oceanfront? Let’s look at the types of views.

Angle Oceanfront View at Captain's Quarters ResortOnce you know whether or not you need a room, efficiency, junior suite or suite, you will want to choose between oceanfront and ocean view. There are also two room types outside of these classifications: interior and angle oceanfront.

Oceanfront

These units face the ocean, offering the best scenery. They are located on the front of the building.

Ocean View

Located on the side of the building, these views can vary as it depends what floor you are on and what part of the building you are in. These are often less expensive than oceanfront units.

Angle

These units offer a partial 45-degree angle view of the ocean and partial view of the beach and pooldeck.

Interior

Interior units are for those looking for a budget-friendly room without a concern of what the view is. These have balconies but do not offer a view.

How do I know which unit type will fit the number of people in my family?

When you are exploring the various room types for your Myrtle Beach family vacation, you will see that based on the room type and number of beds, there is an occupancy limit for each type. Also, depending on the dates you are looking to vacation in Myrtle Beach, certain room types with a limited number of units may already be sold out.

To check what’s available for your vacation dates and the number of adults and children in your family click here to enter in these items for a room search. We consider kids as children up to and including age 17.

You will be given an array of choices for your vacation. You will want to book your Myrtle Beach vacation as soon as possible, because as your stay dates approach, rates are likely to increase and the room type you want may be sold out.
