Planning a Myrtle Beach vacation for your family can quickly turn into a costly endeavor. You have to consider lodging, dining, entertainment.... the the list goes on and on. Chief Kamu Fire and Hula Show: One of the most popular shows on the beach, the Chief Kamu Fire and Hula Show amazes families twice a week at Captain’s Quarters Resort. From blowing fire to hula dancing, this show provides families with entertainment like none other in Myrtle Beach. And, with two shows a week during the summer, you really don't have an excuse to miss out on this exciting show.  Be sure to check it out during your stay at Captain’s Quarters Resort!

Movies Under The Stars: What could be more enjoyable after a long day of soaking up the sun than enjoying an open-air movie with the family? You can do just this every Friday night through the end of August at Valor Park. Located at the scenic Market Common venue, this event will host families free of charge and screen a family friendly movie on a large outdoor screen. The movies will vary each week but are all rated either G or PG. Bring a few blankets and get there early to save your spot! There will also be food vendors there in case you want to grab a few snacks to munch on. Movies will begin at 9pm each week.

Hot Summer Nights: Hosted at the popular Myrtle Beach Boardwalk area of downtown, Hot Summer Nights is a summer long promotion that features different events throughout the week. Bring the young ones on a Monday night to participate in the Kids Carnival, which offers face painting, inflatables, games, street entertainment, and more! Those looking for a show should try and head downtown on a Wednesday to enjoy a spectacular fireworks show over the ocean. Other nights offer live seaside entertainment and roaming street performersto keep you entertained. All of these events are completely free of charge – just head down to the boardwalk to see what all the buzz is about!

Music on Main: If you want to explore the north end of the strand, check out the Music on Main series in North Myrtle Beach.  Each Thursday through the end of September, the city will host live entertainment in the “horse shoe” section of downtown. This scenic area offers easy beach access and a convenient location close to a wide array of shopping and dining options. Enjoy dinner downtown and then scope out a spot along the beach for great views and summer tunes. The music starts at 7pm each Thursday and wraps up around 9pm and is always family friendly.

Broadway at the Beach Summer Events: Broadway at the Beach is the site of many fun events this summer, many of which are completely free! Check out their fireworks, strolling entertainment by Whacker Barrel, a daring fire circus, interactive musical entertainment by Mr. Nigel’s Music and more! You’ll probably already be at Broadway at the Beach at some point during your vacation, so why not check out these fun free events?

The Beach: One cannot forget about the beach! The beach is the primary reason that you traveled here, after all. Captain’s Quarters Resort is conveniently located oceanfront, making it easy to get your toes in the sand. Pack a lunch to enjoy beachfront or pack a few games to participate in a little family friendly competition. Popular games include bocce ball, corn hole, ladder ball, and Frisbee. Guests can also bring a sandcastle set, floats, boogie boards... the options are endless! Or, you might prefer to simply bring a chair and your favorite book and catch up on your reading. The beach provides endless hours of fun – for free!
