Three Examples of Family Attractions in Myrtle Beach that are Open Year-Round
When you come to Myrtle Beach with your family for vacation during the fall and winter months, you probably know that the local temperatures can range from being warm to being a little too chilly for some attractions, such as water parks, to be open. We've come up three types of great Myrtle Beach attractions that are open year-round for your family’s enjoyment.
1. The Beach: The beach is open year-round and of course it's free! Whether you need a light jacket or it's warm enough for short-sleeves, there is always fun to be had on the beach during the winter and fall. Searching for shells and shark's teeth, having a picnic or setting up a chair and reading a good book are just some of the popular things to do on the beach year-round!
2. Shopping Attractions: To call one mall a Myrtle Beach attraction may not exactly be correct, but if you add together all the malls in the area, we think that warrants calling it an attraction. From the two Tanger Outlet malls to flea markets, Myrtle Beach has plenty of places to shop. You can make a whole day out of shopping if you choose to eat at the food court of the mall you are shopping at (Coastal Grand Mall has great food choices) and catch a movie at the mall. Both Coastal Grand Mall and Myrtle Beach Mall have movie theaters attached. Try going to a movie earlier in the day to save money by getting the matinee price during your Myrtle Beach vacation. With a family of four that can really add up! If you are shopping at one of the outdoor shopping parks such as Broadway at the Beach or Market Common, you will have lots of eatery choices that are open year-round. Broadway at the Beach also has the BIGD movie theater (which replaced the IMAX) as well as regular movie screens. Plus, at Broadway at the Beach you can spend your time indoors at two of their biggest attractions: WonderWorks and Ripley’s Aquarium.

3. Shows: While in Myrtle Beach it’s always a good idea to catch at least one show during your visit. Whether your prefer comedy, singing or dancing, there are a variety of Myrtle Beach shows that will keep you and your family entertained. Some of these Myrtle Beach attraction venues, such as the Comedy Cabana, tailor mainly to adults but have some kid-friendly shows in the summer, so be sure to check for the age appropriateness before hauling the family to a comedy show. Other shows, such as Pirate’s Voyage and Medieval Times are great Myrtle Beach attractions because they include both dinner and a live-action show. If you enjoy theatrics and singing more than live-action, check out shows at the Palace Theater or the House of Blues. Some venues offer shows year-round, while others do not so be sure to check their schedule when you are preparing for your Myrtle Beach vacation.
