Things to do near Captain’s Quarters in December

December is a fun-filled event at Captain’s Quarters as the resort gears up for the holidays. Thinking about visiting? Here’s what you can do around Captain’s Quarters in December:

There are a number of tree lightings and even a giant menorah lighting in the many shopping centers and towns around the area. To experience a small town’s tradition (and get some free refreshments) travel just a bit south of the resort to the town of Surfside Beach. They’ll be lighting their tree on Thursday, December 5 at 7 p.m.

There are also a number of holiday parades going on throughout the month in the surrounding communities. Visit the Myrtle Beach events page for a full list so you can coordinate your Captain’s Quarters vacation with a visit to one of those festive parades.

You can also head up to the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk for a full day of holiday themed entertainment on Saturdays in December. For example, on December 7 there will be Caleb the Camel, Santa Claus strolling the boardwalk, free putt-putt at the Shark Attack adventure golf course, live holiday music, an outdoor movie and more. You can get a full list of the activities on the Holidays on the Boardwak page.

After Christmas is over there is another area tradition you may want to work into your Captain’s Quarters stay. The Beach Ball Classic brings together some of the best high school basketball teams from the east coast together to compete against one another in a 4 day long tournament.

These are just a few of the things you can do while on your December vacation at Captain’s Quarters.
