Things to do in July 2015 Near Captain’s Quarters Resort in Myrtle Beach

Summer is in full swing here in Myrtle Beach and you can be sure that you will not be short on things to do during your beach getaway. Take a break from the salt and the sand and check out some of the fun, family friendly events around Myrtle Beach, many of which are completely free of charge! Here’s a roundup of the top family events for July 2015:

Sea Turtle Patrol | Myrtle Beach State Park | Fridays
If you don’t mind getting up early on a Friday morning in order to have the opportunity to help a ranger find sea turtle nests, then you will want to check out the Sea Turtle Patrol program every Friday from 6 to 7:30 a.m. During this program you will set out with the ranger to search for new nests and look for “footprints” left by turtles on the beach. Even if you don’t get to see any sea turtles or nests you will still get to enjoy a lovely morning on the beach and help fill in holes to help the sea turtles who inhabit the area. This activity meets at the fishing pier at the Myrtle Beach State Park and is free with park admission. Space is limited.

Movies Under the Stars | July 3, 10, 17 & 24
Come on out to The Market Common for a free outdoor movie at Valor Park. Starting at dusk, it’s a perfect way to spend your Friday evening. Bring a blanket or chair to this family friendly event and grab a spot on the lawn. Movies on the schedule for July are: ET (July 3), Hook (July 10), Frozen (July 17) and How The Grinch Stole Christmas (July 24).

Fourth of July Celebrations | July 4
