Things to do in February 2014 near Captain’s QuartersAlthough it may be too chilly to lounge on the beach this February, there is still plenty for you and your family to do during your vacation.
Children’s Discovery Zone at Brookgreen Gardens
The Children’s Discovery Zone is open every Saturday and Sunday in February from 12-4:30pm. Bring your kids and have fun learning about the history of the gardens as well as other fun and interactive stations.
Father/Daughter Dance at Ripley’s Aquarium
On February 7th, Ripley’s Aquarium is hosting a Father/Daughter Dance from 6-8pm. It is open to fathers, uncles, and grandfathers to bring their little girls of any age. The event is semi-formal and offers pictures, dancing, and refreshments. Tickets are $39.99 per couple and additional children are welcome for $12.99. Be sure to reserve your spot so you don’t miss out!
Family Free Day at the Myrtle Beach Art Museum
In celebration of the Chinese New Year, the Myrtle Beach Art Museum will host a family free day on February 8th from 11am-3pm. The event will include art workshops where kids can make masks, paper snakes, New Year Bracelets, and fans. There will also be facepainting, Mah Jong, tea and fortune cookies,and a chopstick lesson. A dragon parade, Tai Chi demonstration, and tea times will also be happening during this event.
Ripley’s Family Fun Run
Ripley’s Aquarium will host a one-mile course to kick off the Myrtle Beach Marathon on February 14th at 5:30pm. The course is at Broadway at the Beach and is just for fun as the race times will not be recorded.
Kidztime Festival at Broadway at the Beach
Broadway at the Beach’s Kidztime Festival will be happening on February 15th from 11am-4pm. There will be fireworks, fire engine rides, a farm animal exhibit, live performances, and visits from Captain America. Admission to this event is free.
