Things to do in August Near Captain’s Quarters
Summer is still going strong in August as Myrtle Beach visitors try to get in their vacations before the weather cools down and the kids have to go back to school. As such there is plenty going on in and around Captain’s Quarters Resort.
If you like to listen to live music you can choose to either heat up or cool down your nights with two regular free concert series’ in the area.
Brookgreen Gardens hosts the Cool Summer Evenings concert series on Friday, August 2 and Friday, August 9 with performances at 7 p.m. by the Paul Grimshaw Band and then later in the month by the Fabulous SandSations. People are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to make themselves comfortable . Brookgreen also hosts tons of other things do to on different days, from Shakespeare in the Garden on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. to performances of classic children’s stories on Thursday nights at 6 p.m. All these events are free with general admission to the park.
The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk hosts the Hot Summer Nights concert series every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday in August. People are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket to sit on to enjoy the music and ocean views. Performances in August include some by Tru Sol, Fireshot,Ten Toes Up, The Austin Mowery Band and the BPL Band.
And though both Brookgreen Gardens and the Boardwalk are just a short distance away from Captain’s Quarters, if you want to stay close to your home-away-from-home there is plenty going on at Captain’s Quarters you can enjoy.
You can enjoy all your favorite Captain’s Quarters mascots, from Salty the Shark to Captain Sneaky and Tiki Bird, as well as a visit from Salty’s friend Sharkee from the nearby Ripley’s Aquarium.
