Things to do in April near Captain’s Quarters


Spring has finally sprung here in Myrtle Beach and family-fun is popping up everywhere. If you’re looking to soak up the sun with some outdoor activities this April, here are just some of the events going on around your favorite Myrtle Beach resort, Captain’s Quarters:



Myrtle Beach Pelicans

Come on out to the ballgame! From April 15th through April 21st, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans will be playing a series of home games at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark. Tickets range from $8-$11 and are available online. If you are a VMB discount card holder, enjoy a free meal voucher with the purchase of any regular price field box, reserved box, or reserved bleacher ticket. 



Cole Brothers Circus of the Stars

Myrtle Beach will be home to the Cole Bros. Circus of the Stars from April 14th through April 16th. Jam packed with family-friendly entertainment from live animals, to clowns, to death-defying stunts, the Cole Bros. Circus of the Starts is an event you won’t want to miss. The event will be located adjacent to the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. Tickets start at $16 and are available for purchase online.



Broadway at the Beach’s Easter Eggstreme

On April 19th, Broadway at the Beach will be hosting Easter Eggstreme from 12pm-4pm. Packed with family-fun entertainment, visitors will get the chance to meet and greet with the Easter Bunny, play games, win prizes, and many more exciting activities. Admission is free.



I, the Writer: A Collection of Mickey Spillane Memorabilia

The Myrtle Beach Art Museum, along with Coastal Carolina University affiliates, will be displaying a collection Mickey Spillane memorabilia from March 12th through April 20th. The late, best-selling author was a pioneer in American crime-fiction writing. Spillane resided in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, for the latter part of his life and up until his death in 2006. Admission is free.



Dragon Boat Festival The festival

On April 21st, from 8am-5pm, the 6th Annual Ground Zero Dragon Boat Festival returns to Market Common. Open to visitors, this friendly competition features teams paddling for the finish line in colorfully decorated boats. This all-day event also includes plenty of other activities and entertainment for kids and adults like live music, inflatables, and vendors. Admission is free.
