Take Surf Lessons Near Captain’s Quarters Resort

It’s always good to see new partners on the list of VMB Card partners, and this week we would like to extend a welcome to the Kokopelli Surf Camp. Many of the visitors to the Vacation Myrtle Beach resorts have already tried their hand at surfing, but there are a good number who have not, but would like to give it a try. There is only one way to start surfing if you’re new to the sport, and that is by taking lessons from someone who already knows how. 

Brandon and Wyatt Todd are the joint owners of the Kokopelli Surf Camp. They offer both individual lessons and a surf camp that is run twice a week in season.

The weekday surf camp runs from 9 a.m.  to noon Wednesday thru Friday, and the weekend camp on Saturdays and Sundays at the same times.

The camps always begin with step by step lessons on dry land that explain the techniques of surfing with games and exercises. Student surfers are also told something of the history of the sport, along with its conventions and etiquette. By the time these new surfers get into the water they are well versed in the sport. One nice touch - Individuals attending the surf camps are given a Surf Camp T-shirt and a Goodie-bag.

Kokopelli’s instructors are professional surfers, each with more than 10 years’ experience behind him. They each have first aid certification including the use of CPR. Surfing is one of the healthiest of all sports, and when a group of surfers get together at one of Kokopelli’s camps there is a mutual feeling of well-being both physically and mentally. Whichever country you visit, where there is an ocean you will find dedicated surfers. When you hire a board or arrange a lesson from Kokopelli they will deliver to you at the closest surf zone to your location.

Also available from the Kokopelli Surf Camp are Stand Up Paddle Boards together with lessons on how to use them. 2-hour long paddle board tours of the salt marshes are available on request.

On production of a VMB Card the organization will give a $5 discount per person off the cost of any lesson so make learning to surf a part of your vacation at Captain's Quarters resort.
