Spend Father’s Day 2014 in Myrtle Beach at Captain’s Quarters

Mother’s Day is in the rearview mirror but there’s another major family member that you’ll need to be celebrating soon. Father’s Day is always on the 3rd Sunday in June, which falls on the 15th this year, and now is the time to start planning that special surprise for Dad. Here are some options that can be considered well in advance when planning a stay at Captain’s Quarters Resort.

Surprise Dad with a hearty Southern breakfast at Loco Gecko, where he can pick and choose from the extensive menu. The food and drink will continue all weekend at this Myrtle Beach resort, whether Dad chooses to kick back at the Tipsy Pool Bar or have a burger made to order at nearby Loco Gecko.

Take dad out to the ballgame with a Father’s Day trip to watch the Myrtle Beach Pelicans in action at the TicketReturn.com field. There is a series June 9th – 11th against Lynchburg and another from the 19th – 21st against Wilmington and are the perfect entertainment options for those enjoying an extended Father’s Day stay at the beach. The games start at 7:05pm but guests are invited early to take part in pre-game activities and promotions like $2sDay Brewsday, which offers $2 craft beer from 6pm – 8pm, and Weiner Wednesday, which provides $1 hotdogs all night long! Guests at a VMB Resort also get a free food voucher.

Is dad a lover of live entertainment? There are plenty of places for you to treat your dad to a show! The Myrtle Beach House of Blues is hosting “On The Border”, an Eagle’s tribute band, on Saturday, June 14th. A favorite among guests of all ages, this group knows how to get the crowd going. Or, if you want to give dad a completely unique experience, grab tickets to the Illusions of Magic show at The Palace Theatre. This high energy performance includes mind boggling feats of magic that will keep you on the edge of your seat! Other entertainment venues include Legends in Concert, Alabama Theatre, and the Carolina Opry – to name a few.

Spending Father’s Day in Myrtle Beach is a fisherman’s dream and there are plenty of ways to give dad a chance to catch his dinner. Grab some gear and head to one of the area’s public fishing piers for a casual afternoon of fishing or try your hand at surf fishing. Popular area fishing piers include Cherry Grove Pier in North Myrtle Beach, Second Avenue Pier in Myrtle Beach, and the Garden City Pier; guests who go this route can expect to catch various drum, trout, and flounder. More serious fisherman would love to go on a professional fishing charter. Charters can be found just about anywhere in the area and cover the cost of fuel, equipment, and the guide of professional staff. Charters often go offshore where guests can catch wahoo, tuna, mahi mahi, and more. What could be better than a fresh catch for dinner?

If Dad is a golfer, then there could be nothing better than arranging for him a customized golf package at one of Vacation Myrtle Beach hotels. With nearly 100 golf courses along the Grand Strand, including 10 of the Nation’s top 100 public golf courses, you can customize a golf package that includes your daily green fee, nightly accommodations, breakfast, and even a personalized gift upon arrival at some of our properties. You can choose from any of the Myrtle Beach area courses and customize the package to suit your needs.

Captain’s Quarters is the perfect place to stage a get-away for the father figures in your life and with the “Breakfast, Beach and Bowling Special” you can treat the dad in your life to pretty much anything he’d want to do without breaking the bank!  Check it out on the hotel specials page and give Dad a Father's Day to remember.
