Shuckers Raw Bar: Restaurants near Captain’s QuartersAlmost without exception visitors enjoying a Myrtle Beach vacation look for a really good seafood restaurant at some time during their stay in the city. Guests staying at Captain’s Quarters in particular are no exception.
But with more than 1,500 restaurants and other eating establishments along the Strand to choose from, it is always good to have one recommended by the locals. Shucker’s Raw Bar is one of those, and has been voted by residents of Myrtle Beach as being the best Raw Bar in town. There are two branches to choose from, one of them can be found along North Kings Highway and the second at Broadway at the Beach.
Shucker’s Raw Bar has an extensive menu of, not surprisingly, mainly of seafood dishes but also includes sandwiches, salads and a handful of dishes that contain no seafood at all. The restaurant is open 7 days a week and you can enjoy a happy hour daily between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. If you’re worried about missing that important game, both restaurants have 30 flat screen televisions scattered around as well as a couple of big screens, and all major games are carried. You’ll also find darts, pool, pin ball and shuffleboard.
Shucker’s is best known locally for its raw oysters – which you can also order fried or steamed, by the way. You’ll also find clams, crab, mussels, scallops, shrimp and ‘fish of the day’ on their menu, with plenty of combo dishes to choose from. Many of the dishes are served with hushpuppies or homemade fries. The closer of the two Shucker’s is less than a mile from Captain’s Quarters at the junction of North Kings Highway and 3rd Avenue North.
And since Shucker’s is a VMB Partner, guests at Captain’s Quarters and other VMB resorts can get $5 off a $25 purchase or up to 10% off of the total bill price. So don’t forget to take along the VMB card that you got when you checked in!
