September 11 Events at Captain’s Quarters Resort

During your September stay at Captain’s Quarters, you may be looking for a way to celebrate Patriot’s Day, or the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001.

The Dead Dog Saloon in Murrells Inlet will host two events, one of which will be of particular interest to golfers.

Starting at 7.30 a.m. is the Inaugural Local Heroes Benefit Golf Tournament, which is planned to be an annual event. The tournament will be played at the Island Green Country Club, and proceeds will go to local police and fire departments, and to other local groups.

The second event is their 11th annual local heroes’ benefit. The doors open at 10.00 a.m. and the music starts an hour later. No less than 12 bands will play during the day and there will be a free buffet all day and all night, and like the golf tournament, all proceeds will benefit local police and fire departments. The event also features live auctions, silent auctions and 50/50 drawings.

Guests at Captain’s Quarters Resort are located only a short drive away from the Saloon and while there can also enjoy everything else the Murrells Inlet area has to offer, from great views of the marsh to terrific restaurants. There are also plenty of other area events going on so be sure to check out the Myrtle Beach events page for the latest information.
