Ripley’s Attractions: Fun for a Myrtle Beach Vacation

If a ray swam up to you so you could reach out and touch it, would you be game to pet it? Are you in awe of the massive dinosaurs that walked the world in prehistoric times? If I told you there is a 6 legged cow in Myrtle Beach, would you want to see it? Well if you answered yes to any of those questions then the Ripley’s brand has some attractions in Myrtle Beach that you definitely want to check out!

The most popular of their attractions is the Ripley’s Aquarium. Located a Broadway at the Beach, the aquarium is the perfect way to spend the afternoon. The aquarium provides a great learning experience for children and adults and features special exhibits. Currently, “Dinosaurs – When Giants Ruled!” is at the aquarium. At this exhibit you can walk beside huge prehistoric creatures that move and make sounds that will reverberate through you! Check out this exhibit to learn about the time when these dinosaurs ruled the Earth. You might be fooled into thinking they are the real thing!

After walking through the dinosaur exhibit, learn about water wildlife in the Amazon or watch in awe as the multitude of colored fish swim past you in the Indo-Pacific Coral Reef at Rainbow Rock. If you want to get a hands-on experience, check out the Ray Bay, a favorite amongst visitors. Here you can reach into the water and actually touch a friendly stingray!

After your experience with the sting ray, make your way to the Dangerous Reef, which is the most popular part of the aquarium. Stand on a moving walkway and gaze at the sharks as they swim overhead as you travel through the reef. Where else will you ever be able to get this close to so many sharks?

When you are at the aquarium, show them your VMB Card to get a 6”x8” souvenir photo at a discounted price of only $7! This photo is a great memory to take back home with you!

Another popular Ripley’s attraction in Myrtle Beach is the Ripley’s Believe it or Not! Odditorium located one block away from the boardwalk. From the odd to the amazing, your family can meander through the museum and learn about some of the strangest people, places and things from all over the world from a shrunken head to a 6-legged cow!

Just a little ways down the street on Ocean Boulevard is the Haunted Adventure for those who want to be scared, even when it’s not Halloween! This Myrtle Beach attraction is for adults and kids ages 6 and up. Incorporating intricately designed sets, live ghouls and goblins, and special effects, this haunted house is sure to be one you will remember.

Also located on Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach is another Ripley’s attraction: the Marvelous Mirror Maze. You can find your way in but can you find your way out? Be challenged in the hallways of the wall-to-wall mirrors, lights and dead ends which will make it tricky to find your way to the finish! This attraction is fun for all ages.

Plus, with your VMB Card you will get $2 off entrance to the Ripley’s Believe it or Not! Odditorium, Ripley’s Haunted Adventure, and/or Ripley’s Marvelous Mirror Maze as long as you are not using a combo ticket.

The final Ripley’s attraction, also on Ocean Boulevard, is the 5D Moving Theater. This attraction is for kids and adults who are at least 43 inches tall, however, motionless seats are available for children who are with their mom or dad. This attraction will make you feel like you are part of the Grand Prix Raceway and the Virtual Time Machine through the 4D simulator that moves with the movie!

You don’t want to miss these Ripley’s attractions during your next Myrtle Beach vacation!
