Ripley’s Aquarium is located at Broadway at the Beach and is a great Myrtle Beach attraction for days when the sun is just too hot to visit the beach or you want to explore beyond the beach!
The Aquarium has over 85,000 square feet dedicated to sea life conservation and exhibitions. Kids (and grownups) and enjoy getting a taste of the rainforest with the Rio Amazon exhibit, featuring piranhas, the Pirarucu (one of the largest freshwater fish in the world) and poison dart frogs.
Or they can enjoy the beautiful sights of the Pacific coral reef with the Rainbow Rock exhibit. Visitors can see the thousands of colorful fish as they swim around and through the reef structure, which has been hand crafted to replicate the natural reefs.
Or those who prefer a more fantastical experience can enjoy the live mermaid shows on Saturdays and Sundays at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
And that doesn’t even mention the Ray Bay, the Discovery Center, Systems Control (where you can see the systems that run the aquarium) the Living Gallery or the Dangerous Reef!
Ripley’s Aquarium is located only a short drive away from Captain’s Quarters resort and since it is in the heart of Broadway at the Beach, makes for a perfect destination as part of your day away from the resort and the ocean.
