Restaurants Near Captain’s Quarters: Sara J’s
Sara J's is a family owned seafood dinner restaurant located at the northern end of Murrell’s Inlet, and is just inland from the Garden City Pier.
If you want to combine a serving of fresh quality seafood while overlooking the marsh, then Sara J’s is for you.
Guests have the option of dining on the front porch overlooking the Inlet, or of enjoying a table in the open air under the trees along the banks of the marsh. The walls of the restaurant are decorated with pictures, articles and trophies from some of the owners’ many fishing expeditions, and include a 507 pound Blue Marlin caught 72 miles off of the South Carolina coast in 2004.
The menu at Sara J’s is wide reaching, and covers every imaginable variety of seafood including Mahi Mahi. Soups, salads and starters are all seafood based, as is 95% of the main menu. For those few visitors who are not able to enjoy the delights of fresh seafood there are a couple of other choices that include Black Angus Ribeye steak that has been aged to perfection, chicken breasts and 12-ounce hamburger steaks. To round off that perfect meal, finish with the Southern favorite, Key Lime Pie.
Captain’s Quarters guests should take along with them their VMB Card to qualify for a choice of free appetizer for the party (shrimp cocktail, calamari, oysters on the half shell, buffalo shrimp) when an entrée is purchased.
Sara J’s opens daily at 4 p.m. in season, generally from Spring through early Fall.
