Myrtle Beach Segway: A Fun Addition to your Captain’s Quarters Stay
If you’ve never experienced a ride on a Segway before, then your Myrtle Beach vacation at Captain’s Quarters may be the ideal opportunity to do so.
So what is a Segway anyway? Well, it’s one of those two-wheeled electric vehicles that you stand on and drive around. You don’t have to worry about balancing – that’s all taken care of by a computer in the base of the machine. All you need to do is just stand and point it in the right direction – but training is provided for anyone who is new to the Segway. You can either take a Segway guided tour or rent a machine for anything between an hour to a month or more.
Segway Huntington Beach State Park Tour takes you through one of the Grand Strand’s most picturesque wildlife and wetland preserves. During your tour you’ll get to see loggerhead turtles, alligators and other endangered animal species up close, as well as numerous bird species and maybe even a couple of mink. Huntington Beach State Park is known for its natural beauty, and is adjacent to Brookgreen Gardens, the former winter home of sculptor Anna Hyatt and her husband and philanthropist Archer Huntington, who together left the gardens as their legacy. This tour lasts 2 hours and includes training on the Segway.
Segway Market Common District Tour takes you around the new Market Common District, which is at the old Air Force Base on the southern side of Myrtle Beach’s international airport. This tour lasts for about an hour and will take you past many of the amenities that the newly renovated Market Common District has to offer. You’ll have plenty of time after the tour to take in some shopping in the area or to enjoy lunch at one of the area’s restaurants or eateries.
Segway Rental is perfect for those who would like to experience the Segway without having the obvious restraints of a guided tour. Rentals are available for as short a time as a single hour, as long as a month, or any time in between. You’ll be provided with training and with a protective helmet, and you must be 18 or over and have valid ID. If you’re not staying in the immediate vicinity of Segway Myrtle Beach you can arrange to have the Segway delivered to and collected from your Myrtle Beach location.
If you’re taking one of the Segway Tours while staying at Vacation Myrtle Beach resorts or hotels be sure to take along your VMB Card, which, when buying one tour will give you 50% off a second.
