Myrtle Beach Mascots

Myrtle Beach is full of fun mascots!

Many of our guests are familiar with our very own Salty the Shark, but did you know there are also many others around town? Salty is actually friends with many of these mascots and he hopes you can meet them on your vacation!

Salty the SharkLet’s take a closer look at who these mascots are:

Salty the Shark: Salty the Shark is our very own friendly shark mascot. He enjoys spending time in the ocean, on the pool deck and he even likes to bowl! Salty is most notable for his large teeth and big smile and has a new outfit of a Hawaiian shirt and swim shorts along with flip flops that he will wear this year for the fire and hula show.

Splash Pelican: One of Salty’s good friends, Splash is the mascot for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans Baseball Team. He is most often seen entertaining crowds at TicketReturn.com Field and is usually wearing large sunglasses and a Pelicans jersey to show his team spirit.

Sharkey: Sharkey is the mascot for the Myrtle Beach Ripley’s Aquarium. Although his teeth are a bit smaller than Salty’s, his smile is just as big. Sharkey is one of Salty’s good friends, as they are both from the same part of the ocean and both love to swim!

Chauncey Chanticleer: Chauncey Chanticleer hails from Coastal Carolina University. Although Salty is too young to be in college, he still likes to watch Coastal Carolina football games, where Chauncey revs up the crowd. A large blue rooster, Chauncey has a pointy beak and sometimes serious look on his face. He is serious about helping the Coastal teams win! He too is often spotted wearing a jersey for his home team.

These are only a few of the Myrtle Beach mascots you might come across during your Myrtle Beach vacation. Be sure to have your camera ready to get a photo with one of these mascots!
