Fall Myrtle Beach Vacations

There are a number of good reasons for taking your Myrtle Beach vacation in fall. The high season along the Grand Strand takes place in June through August, when room rates and daytime temperatures are at their highest. Fall officially starts on September 22 and this is also when room prices are considerably lower than those of the summer months. Daytime temperatures are lower and the summer crowds start to thin out. However there are still a number of events going on and Myrtle Beach is far from being a dead metropolis. Here are a few reasons that a fall stay in Myrtle Beach might be a little more enjoyable for some vacationers:

The Weather

The summer temperatures in South Carolina can be anywhere from 80 to 95 degrees. The fall months tend to be a bit cooler during the day, but with temperatures dropping much quicker at night. With a fall trip you can take advantage of the beach during the day and still want to sit outside at night to enjoy the ocean breeze.

Fall Myrtle Beach hotel specials are some of the best rates you can find all year long. The summer crowds are gone but not the possibility for summer-style fun at a discounted price. With the Summer Never Ends special you can enjoy rooms at Captain’s Quarters in September, October and November for as little as $39 a day. And no matter what time of year you stay at a Vacation Myrtle Beach resort or hotel you will be given a VMB Card and a list of VMB Partners when you check in. The VMB Partners include many of the top attractions in the city, numerous restaurants offering fine food to family fun, retail outlets, services and nightlife. Keep your VMB Card with you at all times to make the best use of its benefits.

Fall Events

There are a number of events scheduled to take place in fall. The main ones to keep an eye out for around Captain’s Quarters are:

  • Atalaya Arts and Crafts Festival

  • Pawley's Island Festival of Music and Art

  • Ocean Boulevard’s Oktoberfest

  • Myrtle Beach Bike Week Fall Rally

Keep an eye out for more details on these fall festivals and events on the Myrtle Beach events page.

Fall is the perfect time of year to enjoy a few rounds of golf in Myrtle Beach. With at least 100 golf courses to choose from, be sure to take your clubs along with you. You’ll find that temperatures have fallen from the high 80s of summer to the much more pleasant 70s, and you don’t get that evening chill that is common up in New England.
