2013 Chief Kamu’s Fire and Hula Show at Captain’s Quarter’s Resort
Throughout the summer there are many fun activities at Captain’s Quarters Resort in Myrtle Beach. During your vacation at this Myrtle Beach resort, there are tons of activities that your family can enjoy for FREE!
One of the most popular of these activities is the Chief Kamu Fire and Hula Show which takes place throughout the summer on most Tuesdays and Saturdays, weather permitting.
The fun evening begins with a cookout (there is a fee for this) where you can enjoy a tasty grilled dinner out by the pool or on the lawn while enjoying views of the ocean. Often, Salty the friendly Shark will show up during the cook
out to meet all the other kids (he is still a kid himself) and get his picture taken with his new friends, which is his favorite thing to do!
New this year, Salty the Shark may be seen sporting a Hawaiian shirt, swim shorts, sunglasses and flip-flops. He really likes to get into the Hawaiian experience! There is also a rumor going around that he has a grass skirt and lei, but he is yet to be spotted in that outfit.
The show usually starts when it’s getting dark out. If it’s a chilly night you may want to bring a light jacket, sweater, or blanket so you don’t get chilled by the ocean breeze. But usually during the summer our nights are comfortable and the breeze is light.
The show takes place on the lawn where Chief Kamu does a variety of tricks with fire and along with his hula girls, teaches the crowd how to hula. This show will make you feel like you are in Hawaii rather than on vacation in Myrtle Beach. Be sure to bring your camera to this show!
