Captain’s Quarters Restaurant Partners: LongbeardsOne restaurant that has become a huge success story, both with the locals and with visitors to Vacation Myrtle Beach resorts, is Longbeards Bar and Grill. The restaurant, which is tucked away at the end of Carolina Forest Blvd., is some distance from the beach, and has become very popular both during Happy Hour and late at night.
The ambiance at Longbeards is one of the forest, hunting and of wide open spaces, and the menu is also reminiscent of camp fire food. The specialties for which the restaurant is well known are their turkey dishes, but you’ll also find quail, elk, buffalo and alligator on the menu.
One thing you’re bound to notice when dining at Longbeards is the owner, Ronnie Hribar, and his family, who take the trouble to walk around and make sure that their clientele are happy. This is backed up by a very friendly staff and food that is always good. Happy hour takes place every day between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., and that’s not just at the bar – you can be seated anywhere to enjoy the $1 off of all drinks and the $2 off a good selection of food specials.
The restaurant, which only opened in late 2008, has earned the reputation of being a “Locals’ Hideaway” and has gathered a number of local awards, including that of being one of the most affordable restaurants in Myrtle Beach.
Longbeards’ signature dish is their Shrimp & Grits, but the rest of the menu is extensive and runs from salads to sandwiches, the latter being described as massive. The prices at Longbeards are very reasonable, the most expensive menu item being just $14.95. But if you have a VMB Card the prices are even better! When you buy one dinner entrée you can get a second one for 50% off. This offer is subject to a minimum purchase of $25.
Make sure to try their Elk and Buffalo sliders and their Sweet Potato fries, a must side to any entrée. Enjoy!
