Surfside Beach is just to the South of Myrtle Beach Airport and at the junction of Route 544 and Highway 17, within easy reach of Vacation Myrtle Beach hotels. The restaurant is part of a group that has branches across the South in the states of South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama. The menu at California Dreaming is wide and varied, concentrating on chicken and steak dishes, nachos, pasta, salads and seafood. WMBF News, a local TV station, calls it the “Best Traditional American Restaurant”. One item that stands out as exceptional in reviews is the “Our Special House Salad” with mixed greens, chopped eggs, tomatoes, toasted almonds, hormel ham and bacon. You can also order carry outs and deliveries for large parties from a special catering menu.
Patio seating for smokers is seasonal, and the restaurant offers late night bar bites. The restaurant runs a Trivia Night on Mondays between 7 and 9 p.m. California Dreaming is open from 11 a.m. daily and closes late into the night.
