Best Waterslides at The Beach
Why limit your fun in the sun to just the beach? There are plenty of other ways to get your share of wet n’ wild fun in, including the area’s three water parks! Waterslides, in particular, are a favorite among many guests in the area and we promise that you will find no shortage of variety here. Check out our roundup of the area’s best waterslides and start planning your adventure today:
Arooba Tooba – Myrtle Waves
The “Arooba Tooba” is different than any other slide in the area. Perfect for guests of all ages, this slide is a little thrilling and a lot of fun! Visitors use a tube for this slide and go down an enclosed tune on at a time. The tunnel is dark, so you aren’t quite sure what is going to happen next... until you are flushed into a giant bowl! The rider then enjoys a few spins until they are taken down a final slide that lands them safely into a pool below. Talk about a wild ride!
Turbo Twisters – Myrtle Waves
Are you afraid of the dark! If not, challenge yourself to the Turbo Twisters at Myrtle Waves Water Park. These fast paced water slides are fully enclosed and painted a dark purple color, making them completely dark. And, at over 10 stores tall, these tubes will take you rushing down at speeds of up to 50 feet per second! The twisters whip and wind as you descend and the darkness gives riders no inclination of what to expect. This ride certainly isn’t for the faint of heart!
Water Flumes – Family Kingdom
The water flumes at Family Kingdom Oceanfront Water Park are ideal for the rider looking for a more laid back experience. These slow slides are enjoyed on a raft and slowly wind their way towards the ground. What these slides lack in thrill they make up for in enjoyment, as the slower pace means a much longer ride than any speed slide. This is a great slide for first time riders and those intimidated by the more daring rides.
Wild H20 Racer – Wild Water & Wheels
The H20 Racer at Wild Water & Wheels is a family favorite – and after one ride it’s not hard to see why! Unlike the traditional tube slide, guests on this ride actually slide down headfirst on a sled-style mat. There are four slides side by side, making it easy to enjoy a little friendly competition with family or friends. The slides feature a few humps to shake things up and the first one to the bottom wins! We promise you can’t ride this slide just once.
Free Fall Cliff Dive – Wild Water & Wheels
This ride is a thrill seekers dream! The slide starts off innocent enough, with an enclosed tunnel that features only a modest decline; don’t let that fool you. After a few brief moment, riders are faced with a near vertical drop straight down into a pool below. This daring drop can reach speeds of up to 45 miles per hour and is sure to have your heart racing. And, as a body only slide, this ride is certainly not for the faint of heart – though it is still tons of fun!
