Beach Supplies: What to Bring and What to Leave at Home
If you have never been to Captain’s Quarters Resort in Myrtle Beach or you aren’t quite sure what you should pack, don’t worry, because we’ve gathered a list of items to bring and not to bring during your next Myrtle Beach vacation:
To Pack or not to Pack
Umbrellas and Chairs
If you have room to pack an umbrella and beach chair for your vacation, then that’s great! If you don’t have room, then no need to worry, because you can get daily chair and umbrella rentals from the lifeguards right outside of Captain’s Quarters Resort during the summer. If you bring your own umbrella, just be sure it is 7 feet, 6 inches in diameter or less and remember, tents are currently not allowed on the beach from Memorial Day through Labor Day in Myrtle Beach city limits.
Sunscreen, Sunglasses and Hats
All three of these items can help protect you and your family in the sun. It’s important to either pack these items or plan to purchase them upon arrival. There are many stores nearby that sell these items or you can purchase them at our seasonal poolside Cabana as well.
Leave it at home
Pool Towels
Pool towels are something you do not need to pack when visiting Captain’s Quarters Resort. These towels are available for check-out at the poolside Cabana during the summer and at the front desk during the rest of the year. However, if you plan to go out to the beach during your stay, you will want to bring a separate towel for that from home.
Bowling Shoes
While bowling shoes aren’t something you’d think of when getting ready for a beach vacation, we have a bowling alley on-site, so this may be something you consider packing if you own a pair. However, you don’t need to worry because bowling shoe rentals are available at our Level Six Entertainment Center.
Laptop
Unless you need it, we recommend leaving your laptop at home. It can end up being more of a distraction and keep you from having a wonderful Myrtle Beach vacation experience! Plus, we have free Wi-Fi here at the resort so you can easily get on the internet via your smart phone or tablet if you need to do some vacation planning while at the resort.
Put it on the List
Bathing Suit
One item you want to be sure to bring with you for your vacation is a bathing suit. While this item can be purchased in Myrtle Beach, it’s easier to take the time to find one that fits and suits you before you leave home.
Camera
Whether you use your camera on your phone, bring a waterproof disposable camera or pack a digital camera, a camera is one item you want to remember to bring on your vacation! Even if you don’t plan on printing your photos, having a digital copy can help you and your family remember what a great vacation you had at Captain’s Quarters Resort in Myrtle Beach!
