Wine Tasting Along the Grand Strand

Myrtle Beach may not be wine country, but it is close enough to it that some wine superfans have decided to try to extend North Carolina’s wine country down into the beach. You can enjoy some fantastic wines while on your Myrtle Beach vacation if you take our little Grand Strand wine tour.

La Belle Amie Vineyard Myrtle BeachYou of course have to start off at one of the area’s few full wineries- La Belle Amie Vineyard in Little River. This winery is the home of Twisted Sister wines and has a full tasting room as well a picturesque setting in the countryside of South Carolina. This family owned winery is well known throughout the area not only for its wines but also for its wine and music festivals. Any Grand Strand wine tour has to start at La Belle Amie.

Your second stop needs to be at another area winery that you probably would never guess was there. Carolina Vineyards Winery is actually located right in the heart of Barefoot Landing. This small winery and tasting room prides itself on bringing people “a taste of the South” in their wines. Their wine tasting room has great deals where you can try all 7 of the Carolina Vineyards wine varieties for only $3. Plus being located in the heart of Barefoot Landing means you can also check out lots of great area restaurants and attractions before or after tasting some very local wines.

A little bit further south is another winery hidden in the middle of Myrtle Beach hotspot Broadway at the Beach. Boardwalk Winery likes to call itself a “Micro winery”, like the ever popular micro-breweries for beer making. This winery specializes in fruit wines and blends but has everything from whites to the driest reds. It is a must- see for any wine lovers vacationing in Myrtle Beach.

If you’re looking for some bigger name brand wines that you can fall in love with on your vacation and then easily relive that experience back at home, you need to also stop by Coastal Wine Boutique either off of 21st Avenue in Myrtle Beach or further south at the Hammock Shops in Pawleys Island. This boutique wine tasting room has a great selection of wines and knowledgeable staff who can take you through a tasting that will almost certainly leave you with a new favorite wine. Plus if you’re staying at a VMB Resort like Captain’s Quarters you get a wine tasting of seven different wines for only $1 with your Vacation Myrtle Beach discounts card.

Your final wine tour stop is a relaxing Italian restaurant  and wine bar. Located in Market Common, Travinia Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar has delicious food and a warm, relaxing atmosphere that will be welcome after a day full of going from place to place. Plus their wine list is huge and features around 75 different wines. This is the perfect final stop on your Grand Strand wine tour where you can relax, unwind and reflect on your favorite wines of the day. Plus with a VMB card you can get 15% off of your total check.

The beach, the sun and some great wines—what’s not to love about a Myrtle Beach wine tour?
