June is a month packed with fun things to do for anyone taking their Myrtle Beach vacation at Captain’s Quarters. The resort’s location close to the center of Myrtle Beach also means that it is the best placed of all Vacation Myrtle Beach hotels for the events that take place in that region.
The Boathouse Summer Concert series takes place every Sunday and has always been a popular venue. It can either be approached by the Intracoastal Waterway to the Boathouse dock or by driving over to Fantasy Harbor. June 3 sees Red Jumpsuit Apparatus performing and the following week Appetite for Destruction. On June 17 you can see Perpetual Groove with Zach Deputy. Shows start at 4.30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Every Tuesday at 8 p.m. be sure to make your way to Broadway on the Beach, where the regular feature is a fireworks extravaganza over Lake Broadway. Broadway on the Beach is home to many of the VMB partners, so be sure to take along your Myrtle Beach discounts card to make the best of any offers. There are regular live band concerts at some of Broadways major venues, such as Celebrity Square, where you can enjoy live music every Friday and Saturday night during the summer beginning at 7:30pm. The Tsunami Wave Riders will perform live there on June 14 at 7.30 p.m.
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans have a month packed with home games, and in June you get a chance to see them playing Lynchburg, Frederick, Potomac and Carolina. You can check out the full game schedule here. Don’t forget to take along your VMB Card with you – it entitles you special discounts! The Pelicans stadium is located next to Broadway on the Beach.
The House of Blues in North Myrtle Beach is another popular local venue. Their regular feature is a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater which starts at 7 p.m. Live performances during the month of June include the classic pop group Little River Band on June 8, Country Music artist Gretchen Wilson on June 9, Rock jam band Gov’t Mule with guest Dr. John on June 12 and The Cult on June 15. The House of Blues also has a regular feature in its Gospel Brunch every Sunday at 9 and 11 a.m.
June 14 sees Country music superstar Vince Gill bring about an evening devoted entirely to Bluegrass at the Alabama Theater. The show starts at 7 p.m.
