The Texas Roadhouse chain of steak restaurants was founded by Kent Taylor in 1993 at the Green Tree Mall in Clarksville, Indiana, and now has franchises covering the entire United States. If you’re enjoying a Myrtle Beach vacation, your closest Texas Roadhouse is located at Murrell’s Inlet at the southern end of the Grand Strand, only a short drive from Captain's Quarters resort.

The prices are modest, and with hand-cut steaks on the menu this is a ‘must’ for a family outing. Don’t forget to take along your VMB Card, which entitles you to 10% off the food tab. Roadhouse hours are from 3.30 p.m. until 9.30 p.m. daily, with extended hours at weekends, when on Friday through Sunday they open at 10.30 a.m.

The menu at Texas Roadhouse is centered on steaks, with a 20oz Bone-In Ribeye at the head of the list, and a complete cross-section of other cuts to back it up. Steaks are not the only menu heading – there are also Country Dinners, Chicken Specialties, Dockside Favorites, Salads, Burgers and Sandwiches.

The main entrées are propped up with kid’s and ‘rangers’ dishes, 12 choices of side dish, as well as deserts and starters. And to go with your meal you have a choice of ice cold beer, margaritas and beverages. If you choose to dine early – in Roadhouse terms that’s before 5.30 p.m., you’ll find a choice of ten entrée specials taken straight off the menu for just $7.99 – you won’t find a better bargain that that anywhere!
