Summer Events at Captain’s Quarters
Summer is one of the best times of year to visit the beach. Kids are out of school, the weather is great and there are tons of activities taking place at Captain’s Quarters Resort!
If you didn’t want to leave the resort much during your vacation, then staying at a resort with a lot of activities is a good way to ensure that you will always have something to do. This is great for those who may have flown into town and didn’t rent a car or for those who just don’t want to spend extra money on gas after driving to town.
One of the most popular activities on property, by far, is the Chief Kamu Fire & Hula Show, which takes place weather-permitting on Tuesday and Saturday evenings. Here you can learn the history of the hula, and even learn how to dance like a hula dancer! The show concludes with Chief Kamu’s spectacular fire show, where he does tricks and feats with fire that are amazing for everyone to watch!
Additionally, throughout the summer, kids have the opportunity to meet some of our favorite characters and get their photo taken with them as well (be sure to bring your camera!). Meet Salty the Shark, our very own mascot, or rub the belly of Tiki Bird, a macaw that comes around with his owner, Captain Sneaky.
Want to see some tricks? Stick around for the Greg Holt Balloon and Magic Show that takes place on Tuesdays during the summer. You will be amazed and wonder just how he does his tricks!
Throughout the week there are also daily children’s activities, like beach soccer, scavenger hunt, shark tooth search and water balloon toss. These activities are so much fun, and most are free, except for ones that require supplies, such as t-shirt dying and arts and crafts.
