Labor Day in Myrtle Beach at Captain’s Quarters Resort

08/02/2012

Traditionally Labor Day has come to be celebrated by most Americans as symbolizing the end of summer, and it marks the last long weekend of the year before schools start back for the new school year.

In 2012 Labor Day will be on Monday September 3, and the Labor Day weekend will start on the last day of August, a Friday. Since this is going to be your last opportunity of the year for a weekend away with the kids, it’s an excellent time to take a Myrtle Beach vacation. And what better place is there to stay than Captain’s Quarters resort?

Labor Day also marks the beginning of the NFL and college football seasons, and in Myrtle Beach the last baseball games of the year. On 1st thru 3rd the Myrtle Beach Pelicans will be playing the Lynchburg Hillcats at home, all three nights having promotions either for the whole family or for kids. If you decide to make this one of your nights out, remember to take along your VMB Myrtle Beach discounts card in order to have the full benefit of the promotion.

Friday thru Sunday will see the staging of the 7th Annual Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival, another good reason for spending the Labor Day weekend at Vacation Myrtle Beach hotels and resorts. The festival takes place in the Grand Park at Market Common, and features food stalls, crafts vendors, live music and South Carolina’s official barbecue competition. There will be a fireworks finale on the Saturday night at 9.15 p.m.

Myrtle Beach was voted America’s favorite beach because there’s something in Myrtle Beach for everyone, especially when staying at Captain’s Quarters resort.
