Fall Myrtle Beach Vacations

08/21/2012

There are a number of good reasons for taking your Myrtle Beach vacation in fall. The high season along the Grand Strand takes place in June through August, when room rates and daytime temperatures are at their highest. Fall officially starts on September 21 and this is also when room prices are considerably lower than those of the summer months. Daytime temperatures are lower and the summer crowds start to thin out. However there are still a number of events going on and Myrtle Beach is far from being a dead metropolis. Here are a few tips to help make that fall stay in Myrtle Beach a little more enjoyable:

The Weather
The summer temperatures in South Carolina can be anywhere from 80 to 95 degrees. The fall months tend to be just as nice during the day, but with temperatures dropping much quicker at night. With a fall trip you can take advantage of the beach during the day and still want to sit outside at night to enjoy the ocean breeze.

Discounts
When you’re staying at a Vacation Myrtle Beach resort or hotel you will be given a VMB Card and a list of VMB Partners when you check in. The VMB Partners include many of the top attractions in the city, numerous restaurants offering fine food to family fun, retail outlets, services and nightlife. Keep your VMB Card with you at all times to make the best use of its benefits.

Fall Events

There are a number of events scheduled to take place in fall. The main ones to keep an eye out for are:

• Atalaya Arts and Crafts Festival
• Pawley's Island Festival of Music and Art
• South Carolina International Chili Cook-Off
• Oktoberfest German Festival
• Myrtle Beach Bike Week Fall Rally

You can read more in this blog post about the best upcoming fall festivals and events.

Golf
Fall is the perfect time of year to enjoy a few rounds of golf in Myrtle Beach. With at least 100 golf courses to choose from, be sure to take your clubs along with you. You’ll find that temperatures have fallen from the high 80s of summer to the much more pleasant 70s, and you don’t get that evening chill that is so common up in New England.
