Cinco de Mayo at Captain’s Quarters Resort
Captain’s Quarters wants to help you get in the Cinco de Mayo spirit! While the resort isn’t holding any specific Mexican-style festivities there are lots of partner restaurants where you can be sure to find a sombrero and salsa filled party.
Senor Frogs at Broadway at the Beach has a menu filled with tasty Mexican- style treats. From tacos and burritos to sabana invierno or flattened steak and the sweet treat of dessert nachos to finish off your meal, you can have a great and festive meal at Senor Frogs.
Loco Gecko just across the street from Captain’s Quarters also has some Mexican-inspired menu items, from nachos to a broken taco salad.
There are also two area restaurants that are offering up Mexican menu items, as well as some Cinco de Mayo activities.
Fiesta del Burro Loco has a Mexican menu filled with favorites like tacos and quesadillas, but also some items you might not have seen at other Mexican restaurants like Mexican pizzas or “guilt-free fajitas” which are served with lettuce wraps instead of tortillas.
Burro Loco is also holding a big Mexican fiesta on Cinco de Mayo with a “Stache Dash” run in the morning followed by “Burrofest” from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. with a DJ, costume contests and of course food. You can get details on this event on the Myrtle Beach events page.
Carlos n’ Charlies is another area Mexican restaurant that is holding an event on Cinco de Mayo. Their menu which is a bit more upscale than Burro Loco, offers everything from ceviche to 5 different kinds of burritos and is sure to satisfy your craving for Mexican goodness. And before you begin chowing down on chips and salsa, you can participate in a 5k fun run around Broadway at the Beach. Those who run in costume will be eligible to win prizes and everyone is invited to the restaurant for a party and Mexican buffet for breakfast afterwards.
Right across the street from Captain's Quarters is Loco Gecko, and they will be holding a Cinco de Mayo party with drink and food specials and more on Saturday, May 4, 2013 from 8 p.m. until midnight.
Captain’s Quarters will also have a live band performing poolside on May 4, as well as a Southern cookout. Neither event is scheduled to be Cinco de Mayo themed currently but if you’re staying at Captain’s Quarters it is hard to beat the location of this celebration.
